Sami Robertson Takes on NYC’s Waters to Raise £10K for MND Association

March 31st, 2025

At Harwood Advisory, we’re proud to share that our founder, Sami Robertson, is diving into an extraordinary challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), an organisation close to his heart.

This summer, Sami will take on the 20 Bridges Swim, a 48.5KM open water swim around Manhattan Island in New York City. Starting at night from Battery Bridge, Sami will swim under 20 iconic bridges, navigating the entire perimeter of Manhattan — a challenge that demands immense physical and mental endurance.

Sami won’t be alone in this epic adventure on 14th July 2025. He’ll be swimming alongside friends and fellow seasoned channel swimmers, Stu Bowman and Alan Luckhurst, each united by a shared passion for endurance swimming and making a difference.

This effort aims to raise £10,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which supports those living with or affected by MND across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The MNDA is dedicated to improving care, advancing vital research, and campaigning for better access to resources and support.

Having known people affected by MND, I feel especially committed to this cause,” Sami shared. “The work MNDA does is truly life-changing. This swim is my way of giving back and helping them continue their incredible mission.

We invite you to support Sami’s fundraising campaign by donating through his JustGiving page. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real impact.
