In 2009, the world was recovering from the global financial crisis that hit in late 2008. With the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the banking sector was in turmoil. Quantitative easing and low interest rates made real assets more appealing. UHNWIs from unstable regions (Middle East, Russia, Greece, and parts of Asia) saw London as politically and legally stable.

And because of this, global firms doubled down on international desks – with PR strategies to reach overseas buyers.

We’ve come so far since we launched in 2020. But the world has changed even more since our Founder, Sami Robertson, entered the Prime Property market in 2004.

In 2004, optimism was returning post-dotcom crash and the 9/11 downturn. Property prices in London had recovered and were steadily climbing – somewhat stable and secure. The prime market wasn’t yet overheated, but confidence was building. And everything was far more sales-focused – with much less emphasis on a bespoke, end-to-end service.

But the lessons we learned back then shaped who we are today.
